Trump ends protection for Hondurans
Around 50,000 Hondurans allowed to live and work in the U.S. since 1999, when Hurricane Mitch killed 10,000 people in their country, have until 2020 to get out of this one, The Washington Post says. Citing an internal Department of Homeland Security memo, the Post reports that the Hondurans will be joining 200,000 Salvadorans, 50,000 Haitians and 9,000 Nepalis in having their Temporary Protected Status withdrawn by the administration. The status was extended for 7,000 Syrians in January.
