Waffle House hero does it again !

James Shaw Jr. is the 29-year-old man who came upon Nashville Waffle House white Christian terrorist Travis Reinking and disarmed him before further bloodshed could occur. Shaw Jr. has been adamant that he isn’t and doesn’t feel like a “hero,” as many have called him. Besides being a good guy without a gun, James Shaw Jr. is also using his small piece of notoriety to help others. He’s set up a GoFundMe page for the Nashville Waffle House victims’ families.

My name is James Shaw Jr. I am creating this page to help the families of the victims from the Shooting that took place at Waffle House in Antioch, TN. Please take the time to donate as all of the proceeds will be given to the families. Thank you again for your generosity and blessings!

The victims were Akilah DaSilva, 23:

“He meant the world to us. He was humble, kind, compassionate, outgoing and very creative,” Mr DaSilva’s mother told CBS News. “He spoke through his creativity and he entertained the world through his music.”

DeEbony Groves, 21, a student at Belmont University.

Joe Perez, 20. His mother Trisha Perez wrote this about her loss.

Please say a prayer for my family for today is the hardest day of my life. Me , my husband and sons are broken right now with this loss. Our lives are shattered.

And Taurean Sanderlin, 29 of Goodlettsville.

As of the posting of this diary, Shaw Jr.’s page had far surpassed his initial ask of $15,000 and was at just under $41,000. He may not have felt like a hero, but what Mr. Shaw did was heroic and he continues to be heroic.
